Terms & Conditions of Sale

  1. 'ThePrintingPress.co.uk / The Printing Press' is a trading name of Webworx Limited.
    Goods means the articles or things described in the contract between The Printing Press and the purchaser.
  2. These conditions shall be deemed to be incorporated in all contracts of The Printing Press to sell goods and in the case of any inconsistency with any order or form of contract sent by the purchaser to The Printing Press whatever may be their respective dates the provision of these Conditions shall prevail unless expressly varied in writing and signed by a director on behalf of The Printing Press.
  3. Notwithstanding that The Printing Press may have given a detailed quotation no order shall be binding on The Printing Press unless and until it has been accepted in writing by The Printing Press.
  4. Print processing will take approximately 3 to 6 business / working days from the day after print ready artwork has been supplied correctly. Goods will then be dispatched for next day delivery. Any times or dates given for completion or delivery of goods shall not be binding on The Printing Press. The Printing Press will undertake to carry out additional work for the purchaser to the value of the print element of any goods not supplied on time if liability lies with The Printing Press. Such liability shall not extend to delays beyond the control of The Printing Press including, without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing defects in files or omissions of information and non-performance of carriers.
  5. By their nature goods do not have a redeemable value and no refunds or credits for goods correctly supplied will be entertained.
  6. Payment of goods
    1. All goods shall be paid for at the time of order.
    2. No goods shall be dispatched until paid for in full.
  7. Quality & Liability
    1. Any shortcomings or defects in goods supplied must be notified to The Printing Press within 2 working days of delivery. Such goods must be returned in full to The Printing Press for inspection and assessment within 5 working days of delivery. Reprint or refunds will not be given until goods have been returned in full. Goods must be returned within 14 days to be eligible.
    2. Nothing herein shall impose any liability upon The Printing Press in respect of any defect in the goods arising out of the acts, omissions, negligence or default of the purchaser, its servants or agents including without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing handling and storage of the goods.
    3. Nothing herein shall have the effect of excluding or restricting the liability of The Printing Press:
    1. death or personal injury resulting from its negligence insofar as the same is prohibited by U.K. statute, or;
    2. Under sections 12,13,14 and 15 of the Sales of Goods Act 1979 to a purchaser who is dealing with a customer (as defined by section 12 of the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977).
  8. Print ready Artwork
    1. The Customer is responsible for ensuring that any supplied artwork is to the correct specifications as shown in our artwork checklist, this also includes any design proofs created by The Printing Press. If artwork is supplied by the Customer with no bleed area, we will manually add a 3mm bleed. If the artwork is too large we will endevour to resize it. If the artwork is too small, we will resize if it does not result in a quality loss. If the colour format is RGB, we will convert to CMYK. It is the customers responsibily to ensure the artwork is at the correct resolution for an acceptable quality reproduction (our reccomendation is 300dpi). Other than this we will treat artwork as print ready, any errors including typographical and design errors once printed are without any liability on the part of The Printing Press.
  9. Variations In Quantity
    1. We will endeavour to deliver the correct quantity ordered. However some variation is inherent in the print manufacturing process and it is understood and accepted as reasonable that minor variations are immaterial and The Printing Press shall have no liability in respect of such variations. No credit or refunds will be awarded on quantities plus or minus 10% of the print quantity ordered.
  10. Variations In Folding
    1. We will endeavour to fold your leaflets as precisely as possible but folding of leaflets is not always 100% precise in print finishing. Some variation is inherent in the print manufacturing process and it is understood and accepted as reasonable that minor variations are immaterial and The Printing Press shall have no liability in respect of such variations. A 'fold line' on artwork must account for a possible 1 to 3% movement on the finished product. No credit or refunds will be awarded on orders that meet these guidelines. PLEASE NOTE: If you draw border frames, the frames may not look symmetric after folding.
  11. Cancellation & Refund of Orders
    1. We reserve the right to pass on the 2.5% charge by our payment gateway to the customer.
    2. We reserve the right to consider any manufacturing costs or refuse a refund if production has begun on an order.
  12. Delivery of Goods
    1. Free Delivery to UK Mainland addresses does not include Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, Scottish Highlands (Postcodes: AB, IV, KW, PA, PH, ZD, FK, HF), Isles of Scilly and Isle of White. Please obtain a quote for extra delivery charge.
    2. Customers should enter the correct delivery address in the delivery address fields at the time of placing the order.
    3. If goods are returned to us as a result of a delivery failure we reserve the right to charge the customer for a further delivery.
    4. The time for Delivery shall be the time agreed in writing between the The Printing Press and the Customer or (if none) a reasonable time after the date of the despatch of the Acceptance provided that the Customer shall not be entitled to reject by reason of late Delivery any Goods delivered after the time for Delivery unless he has given to The Printing Press twenty one days written notice of his intention to do so and the Goods are not delivered within such time.
  13. The Printing Press shall not be liable for any costs, claims or damage arising out of any act of tort or omission or breach of contract or statutory duty calculated by reference to profits, income production or accruals or loss of such profits, income production or accruals or by reference to accrual of such, claim, damages or expenses on a time basis.
  14. The liability of The Printing Press to the purchaser for any loss or damage of whatsoever nature and howsoever caused shall be limited to and in no circumstances exceed the price of the goods.
  15. If the purchaser shall be in breach of any of their obligations under the contract The Printing Press may (without prejudice to The Printing Press's rights subsequently to determine the contract for the same cause should it so decide) suspend further deliveries of goods without notice until any defaults by the purchaser are remedied.
  16. No statement, description, information, warranty or recommendation contained in any catalogue, price list, advertisement or communication or made verbally by any of the agents or employees of The Printing Press shall be construed to enlarge, vary or override in any way these conditions.
  17. Any concessions made or latitude allowed by The Printing Press to the purchaser shall not affect the strict rights of The Printing Press under the contract. If in any particular case any of these conditions shall be held to be invalid or shall not apply to the contract the other conditions shall continue in full force and effect.
  18. The contract shall in all respects be governed by English law and shall be deemed to have been made in England and the purchaser and The Printing Press agree to submit to nonexclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
  19. The Printing Press retains all copyright for inclusive design until such time as the customer pays for in full the goods. Upon full payment being received the copyright becomes the property of the customer.
  20. Design Service - our design service prices are kept low as we do not include the supply of high resolution files to clients. If you require a High resolution file of designed artwork then you need to submit a bespoke quote and can purchase for an additional cost.
